The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, has recommended castration for rapists and sexual perverts in Nigeria.
She said that such people should be shamed and named to check the situation.
Tallen stated these during a press conference organized to herald the hosting of the executive director of the United Nations population fund, Dr. Natalia Kanem.
While advising women and girls who fall victims to rape and incest not to be coerced into silence especially by family members, Kanem advised the society to desist from laying blames on affected individuals, but rather, demand justice for the right, dignity and wellbeing of the victims who may end up traumatized.
