President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Anambra State for his first official visit, where he will commission the state’s first-ever Government House – a landmark project completed 34 years after Anambra’s creation.
The president landed at Chinua Achebe International Airport at 12:15 pm and was received by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. The newly constructed Government House, spanning nearly 8 hectares in Awka, is described as Nigeria’s “biggest and greenest” state government complex, ending Anambra’s decades-long use of makeshift facilities in Amawbia.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
- Historic Commissioning: The Government House inauguration marks a symbolic moment for Anambra’s governance infrastructure
- Additional Projects: President Tinubu will also open other Soludo administration initiatives, including the Solution Fun City recreational facility
- Stakeholder Engagement: A town hall meeting with Southeast leaders is scheduled during the visit
Anambra Works Commissioner Ifeanyi Okoma noted the project reflects Governor Soludo’s commitment to institutional development. This visit follows Tinubu’s January trip to Enugu, signaling renewed federal engagement with the Southeast region.
