President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has called on Government at all levels, and other Stakeholders from the Niger Delta Region to collaborate with Traditional Rulers to find lasting solutions to the challenges plaguing the Niger Delta Region.
Santor Godswill Akpabio represented by Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, made the advocacy at the 13th Extraordinary General Assembly of the Forum of Monarchs in the South-South Region in Asaba, Delta State.
He described the meeting as a strategy to strengthen the region’s development.
The Minister of State for Petroleum, Mr. Heineken Lokpobiri, who was present at the meeting emphasized that boosting oil production would lead to greater resources flowing into the region and facilitating its development
He called on the involvement of traditional rulers in the fight against oil theft, illegal bunkering, and unrest in the region.
