United States President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden has been convicted by a jury of lying about his drug use to illegally purchase a gun.
The 54-year-old son of President Joe Biden was convicted on all three of the felony counts stemming from his 2018 purchase of a handgun while addicted to crack cocaine, making him the first child of a sitting U.S. President to be convicted of a crime.
The verdict comes as his father is seeking reelection, prompting him to adjust his schedule to travel to Wilmington, Delaware, where the trial took place.
In a statement released immediately after the conviction, President Biden expressed his “love and support” for his son.
