NNL Slams N2million Fine on Crown FC

Supporters of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso are to stay away from the Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomoso, home ground of the club for their next three home matches in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

This follows their unruly behavior and violent conducts during the match day five (5) fixture in Southern Conference B2 tie with visiting Ijebu United which ended 1-1 on Saturday.

Crown are also to pay N2million (N2,000,000.00) for the ungovernable conduct of their fans.

The disruptive behavior of Crown FC supporters allegedly led to the match commissioner rescheduling the match next day .The breach by the supporters was against articles 16:2,4 and 14.1 of the governing rules of NNL.

In a summary jurisdiction, NNL therefore ruled that:

Crown shall strictly, play without their fans in their next three home matches .

Pay the sum of N1, 000,000.00 (One Million Naira) for the missiles thrown into the pitch of play by its supporters.

Another N1, 000,000.00 (One Million Naira), for deliberate acts of intimidation and harassment of match officials by their supporters.

Crown FC trail Ijebu United in 3rd place in group B2, Sporting Lagos, Ijebu United and Crown have the same 8 points but Ijebu is in 2nd place following goals scored, while sporting Lagos are in pole position with a superior +2 goals at the end of the NNL first stanza.

Crown has been given a 48 hours ultimatum to appeal to the summary jurisdiction reeled out.
