Edo Queens, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League, have commenced their preparations for the upcoming qualifiers of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The team, based in Benin City, have opened a training camp at the Edo State University Stadium in Iyamu. Scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast, the WAFU-B playoff tournament is slated to span from the 10th to 23rd August 2024.
Edo Queens will be among the seven teams vying for victory in this competition, marking their debut in the prestigious event.
The tournament will see champions from seven countries within the WAFU-B Zone namely Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Niger Republic, Nigeria, and Togo, competing for a single spot in the finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Edo Queens clinched their maiden Nigerian title just last month in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State and earned the right to represent Nigeria after finishing atop the NWFL Premiership Super Six table in a thrilling finale.
