NIgerians advised not to sell their SIM cards

The Federal Government has appreciated Nigerians for their perseverance in the ongoing NIN-SIM linkage exercise.

A statement by the Director of Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Doctor Ikechukwu Ayinde, says at the end of a review meeting on Eighteenth January 2021, the Technical Implementation Committee under the Ministerial Task Force reported significant progress in the ongoing NIN-SIM linkage exercise.

Doctor Adinde disclosed that over fort seven million National Identity Numbers have been collected by the mobile operators.

The statement attributed the development to an average of three to four SIMs per subscriber.

This means sim cards are expected to be lined up before the deadline in February 2021.
