Nigeria has emerged champions of the second edition of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region 2 Senior Athletics Championships in Ghana, improving on its medal haul from last year.
Team Nigeria secured 15 gold, 8 silver, and 2 bronze medals — a total of 25 — to top the medal table ahead of hosts Ghana, who won 10 gold medals but led in the overall medal count.
The Nigerian athletes dominated the sprints, quarter-mile races, throws, and jumps to power their way to the top spot.
This performance surpasses last year’s achievement, when Nigeria finished with 13 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
