Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has pledged robust support for the Senior Women’s National Team, the Super Falcons, to ensure thorough preparation for this year’s Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France, scheduled from 24th July to 11th August.
This was contained in a communique issued after the Federation’s Hybrid Executive Committee meeting.
Super Falcons, returning to the Olympics for the first time in 16 years, have been placed in Group C, where they will face formidable teams of Spain, Brazil, and Japan.
NFF additionally emphasized its dedication towards ensuring an impressive performance by the Falconets at this year’s FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia.
The Federation has directed its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to promptly and carefully review the program submitted by the Head Coach for the team’s preparation.
The Board has approved a two-phase camping plan for the Falconets, starting with a four-week training camp in Nigeria, followed by a two-week final camp in Colombia before the tournament begins.
Nigeria’s Falconets are in Group D of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup, alongside Germany, South Korea, and Venezuela.
The tournament will take place from 31st August to 22nd September, 2024.
