NBTE Boss Backs Tinubu for Second Term, Calls for Continuity Beyond 2027

Date:

The Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Idris Bugaje, has called for the continuity of President Bola Tinubu’s administration beyond the 2027 general elections, citing the need to sustain ongoing developmental strides, particularly in education.

Bugaje made the call in Abuja on Friday during the launch of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative at the TETFUND Auditorium, an event that also featured the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.

“These are critical sectors that the government is committed to, and that is why I am saying that we must allow this government to continue for another six years,” Bugaje declared.

His remarks align with the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s recent endorsement of President Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. The declaration was made last week by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje during the party’s national summit in Abuja.

The summit, held in celebration of Tinubu’s two years in office, brought together key figures including APC governors, ministers, and lawmakers, who commended the president’s leadership despite economic challenges linked to reforms such as fuel subsidy removal and naira floatation.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also voiced strong support for Tinubu, saying, “We are not giving him notice of impeachment, we are giving him notice that… in 2027, I see everything turning around.”

The endorsement and calls for continuity come amid rising political momentum as Nigeria inches closer to another general election cycle.
