Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state. Speaking at the graduation ceremony of officers from the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) at the Police Mobile Force Training College in Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, Governor Sule expressed his unwavering support for the police force in their efforts to combat crime and maintain peace.
In his address, Governor Sule commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his vision of creating the Special Intervention Squad, recognizing it as a significant step in addressing the country’s security challenges.
Inspector-General Egbetokun, speaking at the event, reiterated his dedication to building a safer Nigeria, noting that the SIS was established to tackle the nation’s most pressing security issues. He extended his gratitude to Governor Sule for his support of the squad and acknowledged the contributions of the United States and other international partners in the training of the personnel.
Representing the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Shaun Gavin congratulated the SIS graduates on behalf of the U.S. Ambassador, praising them as guardians of justice and leaders in the fight against crime.
Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, highlighted the federal government’s ongoing commitment to swiftly addressing crime and supporting the police in their mission.
Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, who oversees the SIS, announced that the Inspector-General of Police has approved a new uniform for the squad, symbolizing a renewed approach to tackling security challenges.
The 169 officers who graduated will soon be deployed across Nasarawa State, playing a crucial role in enhancing security and maintaining order.
