MTN Nigeria Communications PLC has announced the appointment of Dr. Karl Toriola, its current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, as the new Vice President (VP) for Francophone Africa at MTN Group Limited.
In a filing to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the company disclosed that Toriola’s new portfolio covers Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Congo Brazzaville.
Toriola is no stranger to the position, having previously served as MTN Group’s VP for West and Central Africa. His return to a broader regional leadership role underscores the Group’s strategic focus on strengthening its operations in Francophone markets.
In a related development, MTN Nigeria announced that Ferdinand Moolman, a Non-Executive Director, will step down from the Board effective October 31, 2025. He has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Africa, effective November 1, 2025.
“The Board wishes to express its appreciation to Mr. Moolman for his immense service to MTN Nigeria and success in his new role,” the company said in a statement signed by Company Secretary Uto Ukpanah.
The statement reaffirmed MTN Nigeria’s commitment to sustaining its growth trajectory and delivering long-term value to stakeholders.
