MINISTER OF EDUCATION, EMPHASISES URGENT NEED TO EQUIP TECHNICAL TEACHERS

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has emphasized the urgent need to equip technical teachers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Speaking at the Annual Sensitization Meeting of Stakeholders for the Technical Teachers Training Programme in Abuja, Prof. Mamman underscored the pivotal role technical teachers play in Nigeria’s education system, particularly in skills development and the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering teachers to deliver high-quality education that fosters innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Prof. Mamman further highlighted the importance of collaboration and stakeholder engagement to enhance the capacity of technical educators.

The event, themed “Developing 21st Century Technical Teachers: Preparing for the Future,” provided a platform for discussions on innovative strategies and best practices to improve the training and effectiveness of technical teachers.
