The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the elimination of a notorious terrorist commander, Munzur Ya Audu, in the Northeast as part of its ongoing operations to tackle insurgency across the country. Addressing the media on the week’s military activities, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, highlighted significant operational achievements while acknowledging casualties recorded in the Northeast and Southeast.
During the briefing, Major General Buba provided detailed updates on military campaigns, underscoring the successes in neutralizing threats and securing communities in affected regions. He assured the public of the armed forces’ unwavering commitment to eradicating insurgency, while also urging citizens to support ongoing efforts by providing credible and timely information.
Responding to concerns about the recent attack on a military checkpoint in the Ekenobizi community, Major General Buba reassured residents that measures are being taken to address the situation and prevent further incidents. Additionally, he addressed lingering tensions between the Nigerian Navy and the Executive Director of Tantita Security Services in the South-South region, emphasizing the need for cooperation in maintaining security.
The military remains resolute in its mission to restore peace and stability across the country, calling on all Nigerians to stand united in support of their efforts.
