MAY DAY CELEBRATION: Senator Godswill Akpabio Vows Strong Legislative Backing for Workers’ Rights and Welfare

Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerian workers of the National Assembly and the Executive’s commitment to ensuring a fair living wage and improved working conditions in the country.

The Senate President gave the assurance in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Honourable Eseme Eyiboh to congratulate the workers in celebration of the 2024 May day.

Addressing this Year’s theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” Senator Akpabio emphasised that under his leadership, the National Assembly is dedicated to providing the best possible working conditions for Nigerian workers.

He vowed that no worker in the country would be subjected to inhumane conditions again.

Furthermore, he reiterated the relevance of this year’s theme, affirming its alignment with international best practices and assuring that Nigeria will keep pace with global standards.
