LIBYA TO HOST NIGERIA IN AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFIER AT MARTYRS OF BENINA STADIUM

Date:

Libya will host Nigeria in a crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, 15th October. This Matchday 4 encounter is part of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, with Libya at the bottom of Group D and Nigeria leading the group.

The Martyrs of Benina Stadium, located about 19 kilometers from Benghazi, has a capacity of 10,000 and features an artificial turf surface, which may present challenges for visiting teams unfamiliar with the pitch.

Before this match, both teams will first meet at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, 11th October. The Matchday 3 clash will kick off at 5 PM, and Nigeria will aim to extend their lead in Group D with a home advantage.

Nigeria, with their formidable squad and top players, will be looking to secure two important wins in this back-to-back showdown against Libya. Meanwhile, Libya will aim to use their home conditions to upset the Super Eagles and keep their qualification hopes alive.

The second leg in Libya will kick off at 8 PM Nigeria time, with both teams eager to gain a vital three points in their journey toward the 2025 AFCON.
