Former Manchester United and England star Jesse Lingard has been fined for riding an electric scooter without a licence in Seoul, South Korea.
The 31-year-old, who currently plays for FC Seoul, was fined 190,000 won ($143) after being investigated by South Korean police on Wednesday.
Lingard admitted to being unaware of the country’s regulations regarding electric scooters, including the mandatory use of helmets.
In an Instagram post earlier this week, he urged visitors to South Korea to familiarize themselves with local laws, saying, “It can be dangerous. Safety first, you know for everyone, helmets on. And obviously, I won’t do that again.”
This incident follows a previous driving ban for Lingard in the UK, where he was barred from driving for 18 months after being caught drink-driving in Manchester last year.
Lingard joined FC Seoul in February 2024, following his departure from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2023. He has represented England 32 times, scoring six goals.
