The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise.
The Board disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who said candidates who participated in the exercise can now access their results through JAMB’s approved result-checking platforms.
Benjamin noted that the release of the mop-up results marks the conclusion of the 2026 UTME examination process and signals the commencement of the admission phase.
“With the successful conduct of the mop-up exercise and the publication of the results, the Board will proceed with the ranking of candidates,” he said.
According to him, the printing of result slips required for admission processing is expected to begin before the end of the week.
The Board also expressed appreciation to candidates, parents, schools and other stakeholders for their patience, cooperation and support throughout the examination period.
The mop-up examination was conducted on June 13, 2026, for candidates who were successfully verified during the main UTME but could not sit for the examination due to technical issues, biometric verification challenges or other disruptions experienced at their examination centres.
JAMB stated that the exercise was designed to ensure that all eligible candidates were given an opportunity to participate in the examination under fair conditions.
The 2026 UTME was held nationwide in April, with more than two million candidates taking part in the examination.
Since the release of the main UTME results, the Board has retained the minimum admission benchmark of 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education, while also opening its portal for candidates seeking changes of course or institution.
With the release of the mop-up results, JAMB is expected to commence the ranking of candidates and other admission-related processes ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
