Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Thursday began a two-day sensitisation tour of Federal Government projects in Enugu and Ebonyi states, as part of efforts to deepen public engagement and showcase ongoing reforms.
Idris arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, where he was received by state officials before proceeding to inspect ongoing and completed federal projects in the region. The visit will culminate in a Citizens’ Engagement Forum at the Enugu State Government House, aimed at fostering dialogue, gathering feedback, and strengthening collaboration between the government and the public.
During a courtesy call on Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu, the minister described the state as a key player in the South-East and Nigeria at large. He said President Bola Tinubu’s administration has made “tremendous progress” in its first two years, driven by bold reforms designed to make Nigeria “work again.”
Idris highlighted the removal of fuel subsidy as one of the president’s most decisive actions, noting that it has freed up resources for impactful governance and accelerated project delivery across the country.
Governor Mbah, in his remarks, credited the president’s reforms for enabling key projects in Enugu State. He expressed gratitude for the concessioning of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda.
