IGP Kayode Egbetokun Stresses Importance of Human Rights in Policing for Building Societal Trust

Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has advocated for respecting Human Rights in Policing as a crucial step towards building societal trust.

IGP Egbetokun made this known while declaring open a sensitization Workshop for Officers in charge of Legal matters.

Represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (Force CID), DIG Abiodun Alabi, the IGP explained that Nigeria’s Police Force has a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice for all.

Commissioner of Police on Legal Matters, CP Ohiozoba Ehiede explained the purpose of the workshop and its importance to the force.

The workshop focuses on building an effective, efficient, and lasting respect for human rights based on the doctrines of the Nigerian Police Force.
