Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reassured the Muslim faithful of adequate security measures as they prepare to celebrate EID-EL-FITR, marking the end of Ramadan.
The IGP reaffirmed efforts to combat crime nationwide, emphasizing that Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders, alongside their supervisory assistant inspectors general of police, have been instructed to intensify security measures ahead of the festivities.
The police boss said critical locations such as EID prayer grounds will witness thorough deployment of officers and resources, aimed at reassuring citizens and visitors that officers have been tasked with assessing threat-prone areas, implementing robust stop-and-search procedures, and executing anti-crime strategies to maintain peace nationwide.
