Governor Sule Swears in Teachers’ Service Commission Members, Women Affairs Commissioner, and Holds First Exco Meeting

Date:

In a move to strengthen governance and key sectors, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has inaugurated the Chairman and members of the State Teachers’ Service Commission, as well as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services. The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Government House, underscored the administration’s commitment to education, social welfare, and effective service delivery.

Following a delay from the initial swearing-in date of February 21, Princess Margeret Elayo was officially sworn in as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services after being cleared of any fault. Governor Sule urged her to serve with integrity and diligence, emphasizing the importance of her role in advancing social welfare programs.

Governor Sule also inaugurated Timothy Kasuwa as Chairman of the Teachers’ Service Commission, alongside other members. With the state facing a shortage of qualified teachers, the Governor expressed confidence in the Commission’s ability to enhance the quality of education in Nasarawa.

During the inaugural Executive Council meeting, Governor Sule warmly welcomed the new commissioners and stressed the importance of collaboration among ministries. “The success of one ministry elevates the entire state,” he said, urging the commissioners to work together to achieve the administration’s goals.

The Governor also announced the restructuring of state ministries to improve efficiency and productivity. Key changes include the merger of the Ministries of Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services and the separation of Mining from the Ministry of Environment.

Following the meeting, commissioners briefed journalists on key discussions, which included the ministry restructurings and recruitment plans by the Teachers’ Service Commission.

With these new appointments and reforms in place, expectations are high for improved governance and service delivery in Nasarawa State.
