Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has sworn in 27 newly appointed commissioners and honorary special advisers. The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Uyo, marked the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s governance.

Governor Eno charged the new appointees to act as solution providers through teamwork and dedication to service. He named the new executive council “Exco of Consolidation and Expansion,” expressing hope that the team would work collaboratively with other elected political office holders to drive development in the state.

The newly sworn-in commissioners include nine former members of the previous state executive council and 18 new appointees. Governor Eno emphasized his administration’s dedication to the holistic development of youths, noting that the strategic inclusion of young appointees is aimed at bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to governance.
The governor also appreciated the state legislature for the swift screening and clearance of the appointees. He acknowledged the contributions of the immediate past executive council to the development of the state and urged the new EXCO members to eschew divisive politics and show respect for the state’s elders.

Following the oath of allegiance, the new commissioners and honorary special advisers were presented with official vehicles to aid in the discharge of their duties.
