Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has agreed to buy his teammates dinner as a gesture of goodwill following his controversial reaction to being substituted during the match against Ipswich.
Garnacho was replaced by Noussair Mazraoui on Wednesday after Patrick Dorgu was shown a straight red card for a foul on Ipswich winger Omari Hutchinson. Instead of joining his teammates on the bench, Garnacho headed straight down the tunnel, sparking discussions about his reaction.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that he had addressed the situation with Garnacho and understood the reason behind the player’s actions. As a result, Garnacho will fund a team dinner to make amends.
Amorim also mentioned that Garnacho has a minor knock but is expected to be fit for Manchester United’s upcoming FA Cup fifth-round tie against Fulham this Sunday.
The incident highlights the importance of team unity and professionalism, and Garnacho’s gesture is seen as a positive step toward maintaining harmony within the squad.
