The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi State has issued a stern warning to its officers against indolence and the extortion of motorists on highways.
The warning was delivered by the FRSC Sector Commander in Kogi, Samuel Oyedeji, during a workshop for Heads of Operations at the Command’s Headquarters in Lokoja.
Oyedeji emphasized that any officer found engaging in misconduct or failing in their duties would face strict disciplinary action, including possible dismissal, to serve as a deterrent to others. He urged officers to remain dedicated to their roles and reminded them of their responsibility to uphold the reputation of the FRSC.
“We are in Kogi as officers and men of the corps to serve diligently, and that we must put at the back of our minds,” Oyedeji stated.
“Any act that could tarnish our image as a corps should be avoided, and we should project the FRSC in good light before the public.”
He further stressed the importance of prioritizing the safety of travelers on the highways and encouraged officers to be proactive, particularly in responding to road accidents, to ensure swift and effective assistance.
