On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu expressed his support for the nation’s $5 billion floating LNG project.
The President offered his support when he hosted the joint venture partners—UTM FLNG, TECHNIP Energies, and JGC Corporation—along with the French and Japanese ambassadors to Nigeria in his office.
After the discussion with the president, Julius Rone, the delegation’s leader and the group managing director of UTM FLNG, told reporters outside the White House that an agreement for a $5 billion loan with Afreximbank had been made to fund the project.
The project has the potential to create 7,000 direct employment and 300,000 tons of LPG annually, according to Rone, who represented the President’s position.
