Interior Minister urges Nigerians to emulate Christ’s virtues of love, sacrifice
The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the holidays in a statement released on Tuesday by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani.
In his Easter message, the minister called on Christians and all Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the season, emphasizing the virtues of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ. He encouraged citizens to use the holiday period to pray for national peace and unity while extending acts of kindness to others in their communities.
The statement reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing Easter as an opportunity to renew collective dedication to national development.
