The Federal High Court has announced that its 2025 annual vacation will commence on July 28 and end on September 16. Normal court sittings are expected to resume on Wednesday, September 17.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by the court’s Director of Information, Mrs. Catherine Oby Christopher, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to the statement, key divisions of the court in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will remain open during the vacation period to attend to matters of extreme urgency.
“Consequently, the litigating public will be at liberty to approach only the above-listed courts located nearest to them,” the statement read.
The judges assigned to sit during the vacation are: Abuja: Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman; Lagos: Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki; Port Harcourt: Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed.
The court noted that the vacation is in line with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has also extended his best wishes to all judges as they prepare to embark on the annual break.
