The Federal Government has promised to ensure improved welfare for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) and their family members.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave the assurance at an Interdenominational Church Service to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Abuja.
He said the sacrifices the nation’s troops made in defending the country would not be in vain.
Osinbajo, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, urged Nigerians to support the Military and other security agencies in a bid to address the security challenges plaguing the country.
According to Osinbajo, troops prosecuting operations across theatres deserve commendations for heeding the call to duty to confront non-state actors testing the will of the State.
