Interior Minister calls for national unity, peaceful celebrations
ABUJA — The Federal Government has approved Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the announcement Thursday through a statement signed by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani.
The minister congratulated Nigerian Muslims on successfully completing the Ramadan fast, urging them to sustain the spiritual values cultivated during the holy month. “Let us continue to demonstrate the virtues of self-discipline, compassion and generosity beyond Ramadan,” Tunji-Ojo advised, emphasizing that “peace and solidarity remain vital for building a harmonious society.”
