The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 245 suspects in a series of raid operations targeting criminal hideouts and black spots across the territory.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operations were carried out between February 6 and February 23 in areas including Kurudu, Kubwa, Galadimawa, and Kuje.
During the raids, security operatives seized a large cache of dangerous weapons and illicit substances, including:
- Dried leaves suspected to be marijuana
- Three machetes and three axes
- Several handmade bongs
- Six small tubes of glue and eight pairs of scissors
- Multiple ID cards
- Various pills suspected to be illicit drugs
In addition to the arrests, authorities have intensified surveillance on abandoned buildings and isolated areas linked to criminal activities. Property owners are urged to secure their structures to prevent them from being used for illegal purposes.
The FCT Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu, has reassured residents of continued efforts to enhance security and urged the public to report suspicious activities via the emergency contacts provided by the police.
