ENUGU WINS BID TO HOST 2026 NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL

Enugu State has been selected to host the 23rd National Sports Festival in 2026, marking its first time hosting the event since the festival’s inception in 1973.

Following a rigorous bidding process, the National Sports Commission (NSC) announced the decision, with Enugu State emerging victorious. The NSC expressed confidence in Enugu’s ability to deliver a remarkable event that will showcase sportsmanship and unity.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the 22nd edition of the festival, set to take place in January 2025 in Ogun State. Over 15,000 athletes are expected to participate, with Ogun gearing up for a world-class competition. The Director General of the NSC, Honourable Bukola Olopade, reaffirmed the commission’s support for Ogun State in hosting an exceptional event.
