The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has won Saturday’s presidential election in Lagos state.
Obi defeated his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Bola Tinubu, after the votes were calculated from all the 20 LGAs in the state.
Final results declared by the electoral office showed Obi won 582,454 for the Labour Party against Tinubu’s 572,606 for the APC.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar came a distant third in the exercise with 75,750 votes. NNPP had 8442 while SDP had 772.
According to INEC, accredited voters were 1,347152, and the total valid votes were 1271451. Rejected votes were 64278, and the total votes cast were 1,335729.
