President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at the Nigerian Army Trooping and Presentation of Colours parade 2023 at Eagle Square in Abuja.
The Presentation of Colours held today (Thursday) is a ceremony that marks an anniversary or event in the history of a particular regiment.
This involves the presentation of a new version of the regimental colour to a regiment or equivalent formation in the armed forces.
Accompanying the president was his Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.
Dressed in the ceremonial military uniform, the retired army general is currently reviewing an impressive standby of over 1,000 officers who have gathered for the parade.
Notably, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor; the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, and the Inspector-General of Police Usman Baba, were also in attendance to witness this spectacle.
Buhari will unveil 28 out of the 81 national and regimental colours for the newly established and operationalised units and retired unit colours of the Nigerian Army.
