The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has affirmed the election of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the duly elected Governor of Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the November 16, 2024, governorship election, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The appellate court’s decision upholds the earlier ruling of the Ondo State Election Petition Tribunal, which also dismissed the petition filed by the PDP candidate challenging the outcome of the poll.
