Anambra 2025: Soludo Focused on Governance, Not Campaigns — APGA

Date:

As the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State approaches, the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has declared that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is prioritising governance and infrastructural development over campaign activities.

In a statement issued on Thursday by APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, the party stated that Soludo is fully engaged with meeting the performance targets he has set for his administration and will not allow electioneering to derail his progress.

Opara said that while other political parties have begun their campaigns since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gave the green light on June 11, APGA remains focused on governance.

“First, as a government, there are deadlines that Governor Soludo has set for himself and everyone on the Solution team. Thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and Ndi Anambra will not accept excuses,” the statement read.

“Across the length and breadth of the state, Soludo is stamping indelible footprints that require consolidation; nothing will veer him off this track. For the first time in the state’s known history, Ndi Anambra will be making a decision based on massive evidence of sterling performance, not hearsay.”

Opara also described the early campaigners as “keeping the square busy” while assuring that APGA will eventually dominate the political space.

“Like Oliver De Coque of blessed memory sang many years ago: ‘Enwelum nnukwu mmanwu, nwe Otimkpu. Nnukwu Mmanwu puta obodo awalu oso, otimkpu a na eti, gidi-gidi bu ugwu Eze’.

He added, “For now, Soludo is very busy, and APGA encourages him to remain focused. Our vehicle is sound, and the road ahead is clear.”

Governor Soludo, who is seeking re-election under APGA, is expected to formally commence campaign activities later in the election cycle.
