AKWA IBOM TO EMBRACE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY FOR REVENUE GENERATION

Akwa Ibom State Government plans to adopt digital technology in 2025 to enhance revenue generation, streamline tax collection, and reduce leakages.

Executive Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Okon Okon, disclosed this during an interaction in Uyo, citing the move as a step toward greater transparency and efficiency.

He revealed plans to partner with technology firms to design robust tax monitoring and compliance systems, broadening the state’s tax base without increasing rates.

The initiative aligns with Governor Pastor Umo Eno’s support for innovative strategies to boost the state’s economic growth.
