Akwa Ibom State Government Guarantees Uninterrupted Supply of Petroleum Products as Fuel Marketers Shut Outlets in the State

Date:

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has assured members of the public of uninterrupted petroleum product availability while also cautioning members of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas against obstructing the supply of petroleum products in the state.

Governor Eno gave the warning at the special church service at All Nations Christian Ministry International in Onna Local Government Area.

Almost all the petrol stations run by independent marketers located along major and popular roads across the state such as Oron, Ikot Ekpene, Eket, and others, shut down and stopped selling petrol since Sunday.

Only mega stations particularly the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, have been selling petrol within Uyo.

Based on this development, the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno directed the commissioner for internal security to liaise with the Coordinator of Ibom Community Watch and other Security Agencies to mount surveillance at the borders to checkmate the unscrupulous elements from stopping petroleum products in the state.

The Governor stressed that his government will contain any group trying to sabotage his administration frontally to drive home its mandate of ensuring the welfare of the citizenry.
