Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured the people of Itu Local Government Area of the development of road infrastructure and revitalization of the rich tourist potential to enliven the area and boost the tourism sector of the State economy.
Governor Eno who was addressing the congregation at The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, West Itam Parish, Ikot Andem, Itu Local Government Area where he attended the church service, reiterated his administration’s commitment to deliver on the campaign manifesto made to Local Government Areas during the electioneering campaign.
The Governor stated that his administration has made progress in the delivery of promises made to Itu people, having assured them that he would adopt the area as his second Local government, noting that he has annexed the tourism potentials of the area starting from his visit to the Mary Slessor tomb and other tourist sites in the area.
He assured the people that the Ministry of Tourism And Culture will revitalize the sites and spoke of the Mary Slessor road, Tabernacle road which he said are under construction, assuring that the road leading to the Paramount Ruler’s house has been awarded and the contractor would soon be mobilized to site.
