Owners of property and prospective developers on Oron road in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital have been warned against constructing illegal structures along the road.
Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga said this while leading a team to demolish illegal structures in Uyo.
He said that such properties were obstructing the ongoing work on the expansion of Airport road, along Mbiabong axis Uyo.
He reminded them that they have been compensated and given time to relocate and allow for demolition of the compensated properties.
Correspondents gathered that the demolition exercise was carried out after payment of compensations to owners by the state government, while notice to vacate, to enable uninterrupted work on the road project was duly served on them.
