A’Ibom Speaker Pledges Legislative Support for Governor During First Lady’s Burial

The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong has assured Governor Umo Eno of the legislature’s unwavering support during the burial ceremonies of the late First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, and beyond.

Speaker Otong gave the assurance while leading members of the 8th Assembly on a condolence visit to the Governor at his residence in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

The delegation included legislators’ spouses under the umbrella of the Legislators’ Wives Association.

The lawmakers paid tribute to the late First Lady and pledged their commitment to supporting the incoming First Lady, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, in sustaining the Golden Initiatives for All (GIFA), the pet project established by her predecessor.

Governor Eno expressed gratitude to the Assembly for their solidarity and collaboration, noting that the visit, alongside numerous condolence messages, had brought solace to his family.
