Senator Abubakar Kyari, the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Deputy National Chairman (North), has taken over as the party’s National Chairman.
After a National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Monday in Abuja, Kyari succeeded Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the party’s chairman.
After the NWC meeting, Kyari officially informed the media that Senator Iyiola Omisore and Adamu had resigned as the party’s National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
Kyari added that Festus Fuanter, the APC’s deputy national secretary, will operate as the party’s national secretary in accordance with the party’s charter.

Adamu skipped Monday’s NWC meeting, while Omisore abruptly left the gathering at the party secretariat in Abuja.
Kyari presided over the APC NWC meeting and represented Borno North Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly.
