Adamawa LP Gov’ship candidate dumps Peter Obi for Tinubu

Date:

The Labour Party governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Mustapha Muqaddas and his supporters on Thursday, declared their support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, ditching the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Mustapha’s withdrawal of support for Obi followed the collapse of Umar Mustapha’s LP structure in Adamawa into that of the APC.

Announcing his backing of Tinubu at a media briefing in Yola, Muqaddas said that he and his supporters were disappointed because they found the people running the Labour Party in the State to be as bad as the system they were trying to change.

He said his supporters came into the LP with the belief that it will provide the alternative that Nigerian politics needs by being progressive, truthful, inclusive and visionary.

Mustapha who’s popularly known as Otumba also stated that his decision and that of his supporters, to support the candidate of another political party both at the national and state levels was made after it became clear to him that the party in the state will get nowhere based on the structure set up by the Peter Obi Presidential campaign organization.

“I have been completely sidelined and ignored even deliberately disrespected by LP structure both at the national and state level and the same applies for other candidates in the LP,” he said.

He asked his supporters to vote for APC on Saturday.
