Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr defeated Damac FC 4-1 to clinch the Saudi Pro League title, ending the Portuguese star’s long wait for a major domestic trophy.
The victory secured the league crown for Al Nassr on the final day of the season, with rivals Al Hilal finishing two points behind.
Ronaldo, now 41, delivered two decisive goals in the final half-hour of the match. His trademark free-kick in the 63rd minute beat both the goalkeeper and a crowded defence before he added a second goal nine minutes from time with a powerful finish from close range.
The Portuguese forward appeared emotional after being substituted late in the game, watching the closing minutes from the bench as Al Nassr secured the title.
The triumph marks Ronaldo’s first major club title since winning the Serie A crown with Juventus FC in 2020. He now adds the Saudi league title to championships won in England, Spain, and Italy, alongside his five UEFA Champions League titles.
Earlier in the match, Sadio Mane helped Al Nassr establish a 2-0 lead before Damac reduced the deficit.
Ronaldo’s latest brace also takes his career tally closer to the 1,000-goal milestone, with the striker now on 973 career goals.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid CF star joined Al Nassr in January 2023 in a landmark move that accelerated Saudi Arabia’s recruitment of global football stars.
Next for Ronaldo is international duty with Portugal national football team after he was named in the squad ahead of what could become his sixth FIFA World Cup appearance.
