In a thrilling Madrid derby, Brahim Diaz scored a stunning late winner to give Real Madrid a narrow 2-1 lead over city rivals Atletico in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Rodrygo opened the scoring for Real Madrid just four minutes into the match, but Atletico responded in the 32nd minute with a spectacular strike from Julian Alvarez. The game seemed headed for a draw until Diaz, a former Manchester City player, netted the decisive goal, sending the home crowd into raptures.
