Nigeria Police Force Intensifies Crackdown on Violent Crime, Neutralizes Nine Terrorists and Recovers 23 Firearms

The Nigeria Police Force has ramped up its efforts to combat violent and organized crime across the country, achieving significant breakthroughs in recent operations. In a series of tactical missions, operatives neutralized nine terrorists, rescued a kidnapped victim, and recovered 23 firearms, alongside other dangerous weapons.

In Kebbi State, police operatives successfully rescued a 60-year-old man who had been abducted and held captive in Tundafari Forest. The rescue mission involved an intense armed confrontation, resulting in the death of four kidnappers and the arrest of one suspect. A ₦3 million ransom, intended for the victim’s release, was also recovered during the operation.

Meanwhile, in Imo State, a tactical raid on an IPOB/ESN camp in Ezioha Mbaitolu led to the neutralization of two key kingpins. The operation yielded the recovery of seven AK-47 rifles, 13 pump-action guns, and a cache of assorted ammunition. In a separate operation in Nkwukwo Forest, three terrorists were killed, and firearms, motorcycles, and charms were seized.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the operatives for their bravery and dedication in these high-risk missions. He emphasized the importance of enhanced intelligence gathering and urged the public to cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.

These operations underscore the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and restoring peace across the nation.
