Remo Stars’ technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede, has praised his team’s outstanding display after their hard-fought 2-1 victory against Rangers in their NPFL matchday four encounters. The thrilling match, which took place in Ikenne on Sunday night, further solidified Remo Stars’ strong start to the season as they now sit atop the NPFL table with an impressive 12 points from four games.
Ogunmodede, speaking during a post-match interview, commended his players for their resilience and teamwork throughout the match. “The boys showed great character and determination. It was a tough game, but we stuck to our game plan and delivered when it mattered,” he said, reflecting on the crucial win that has positioned Remo Stars as early title contenders this season.
The victory, however, did not come without controversy. Rangers Head Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, voiced his frustration following the match, criticizing Remo Stars for what he described as a lack of sportsmanship. Ilechukwu expressed his disappointment, accusing the players and officials of Remo Stars of not adhering to fair play standards, a sentiment that sparked discussions around match conduct in the league.
