A student of Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has been reportedly murdered by some students expelled from the school.
The Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, who described the incident which led to the death of the student on Thursday, 10th March, 2022 as ugly, has ordered the immediate close down of the school, so as to enable the State Secondary Education Board and the Ministry of Education wade into the matter and restore calm in the school immediately.
According to some students of the Institution who claimed anonymity, the perpetrators of the evil act were expelled students of the institution, who still had access to the school by disguising themselves as students, adding that their expulsion was due to their nefarious activities.
They said they were denied entrance to the school premises today, due to the unfortunate incident that occurred.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner has advised parents and guardians to make sure that their wards remain at home as education authority is doing all it can to restore normalcy in the shortest possible time.
