A group, Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Council (NENYLC), has called on all Senators-elect across party lines to elect Senator Godswill Akpabio as president of the 10th National Assembly.
President General of the Group, Comrade Terry Obeih, made the call in a news conference addressed by the council in Abuja.
Com. Obeih said the call is born out of Sen. Akpabio’s sterling leadership style and track record as a detribalised Nigerian.
Some members of the group, while urging the president elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to cede the Senate Presidency to the South-South Geopolitical Zone for equity and fairness, expressed optimism that Sen. Akpabio as the 10th president of the senate will ensure harmony between the executive and the legislature.
