Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, says he would love his players to score from open play in their next game against Cape Verde instead of scoring from the Penalty spot as was done against the Lone Stars of Liberia in Saturday’s game.
Speaking after the game, the German-born tactician admitted the Liberian defence was very tight which made it difficult for his players to penetrate through.
Rohr said the team will do their best to score from open play in their next game on Tuesday in Lagos.
Two goals from the penalty spot from Victor Osimehn and Captain Ahmed Musa in both halves of the game ensured victory for the Nigerian side against Liberia.
The win keeps Nigeria at the top of Group C of the Qualifiers with 10 Points, while Cape Verde who they play next, are second with 8 Points.
